1. Please let me know if you were able to find the information that I requested you add to your literature review, and if you have made revisions where necessary.
I was able to find most of the information that you requested I add to my literature review. Some of it was harder to find than others and took more effort but I think it will be worth it in the end so that my literature review is as complete as possible. I haven't yet made the revisions due to a test at the end of last week. My goal is to finish it up this week and make it ready for the due date.
2. Based on class discussions, are you going to write a research proposal or a project proposal to address your campus organization's multicultural issue or challenge? Why or why not?
I think a project proposal would be the best choice for my project because I don't think there is a need for research on the issue we are looking at. All the research needed for the issue can be represented in the literature review and no new information is really required.

ReplyDeleteHi Marissa,
ReplyDeleteIt is true...some information is not easy to find. That hard-to-find information, however, is often very useful, and will answer many questions that you will need to address later in your proposal.
SCSU has committed to at least one campus-wide initiative to protect the environment. In every building on campus there are receptacles for recycling, for example. On every floor of the Miller Center, especially, there are receptacles for soda bottles and cans. I get really irritated with people who throw garbage in there (especially since every receptacle for this purpose is clearly labeled, in big letters, what to place in there) but I do not know how that problem can be resolved. We would not have this problem if the state of Minnesota paid people 5 cents or 10 cents per can and bottle. This is what many other states offer as a major initiative to recycle and not litter. You can go to any supermarket in those states, put your cans and bottles in a recycle machine, then get a receipt to cash out when you are finished.
I am looking forward to reading the draft of your proposal, to find out what you and AniMent propose regarding how to educate SCSU about Earth Day and making Earth Day every day!
Sincerely,
R. Wexelbaum
